How to find us
We are on Airline Drive in north Houston. The easiest way to reach us from anywhere in the city is via I-45 (North Freeway), exiting at West Rd:
- From Downtown Houston: take I-45 North and exit at West Rd (Exit 60B). Turn east on West Rd, then north on Airline Dr. We are a few minutes away.
- From The Woodlands, Spring, or Conroe: take I-45 South and exit at West Rd. Turn east, then south on Airline Dr.
- From Aldine or Greenspoint: Airline Dr brings you straight here. We are on Airline near the West Rd intersection.
- From Katy, Cypress, or the west side: take 290 East to I-45 North, exit at West Rd, then to Airline Dr.
- From Humble, Kingwood, or the east side: take Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8) West to I-45 South, and exit at West Rd.
Key landmark: we are in the Airline Market Center on Airline Dr, very close to the West Rd intersection. If your GPS tries to send you via Crosstimbers or Tidwell, ignore it — the correct exit is West Rd.
Parking
The parking lot is shared with other businesses in the shopping center and fills up fast at peak hours, especially:
- Saturdays from 9am to 1pm (family breakfast)
- Pupusa special days at $1.75 (Monday through Wednesday, 3pm – 8pm)
- Thursday $1 pupusa special (3pm – 8pm)
If you arrive and the spaces are full, you can wait a few minutes for one to open up, or order ahead for pickup and grab it quickly. To skip the wait, we recommend coming before 11am on Saturdays or outside the special hours.
What you will find when you visit
Variedades La Oriental is more than a restaurant. Under the same roof we have:
- The restaurant: handmade Salvadoran food every day — pupusas, soups, tamales, atoles, desayunos típicos, parrilladas, and the flavors you remember from home.
- The store: supplements, vitamins, imported Central American products, and items you cannot easily find at other stores.
- Free loyalty program: text the word JOIN to +1 (855) 879-7753 and start earning points with every purchase. No app, no card — just your phone number.
If you are coming for the first time, try the Sopa de Gallina India ($17.99) — it is our signature dish, made with a traditional recipe and served every day.
